Naming philosophy
Every generator and guide on NameGeneratorTools is built on a small set of beliefs about what makes a name worth shipping. We make those beliefs explicit here.

A name is a decision, not a search result
Great names are chosen, not stumbled into. The job of a generator is to compress a huge search space into a defensible shortlist; the job of the operator is to choose with conviction.
Distinctiveness compounds
Generic, descriptive names lose ground every year as a category gets crowded. Distinctive names — invented, evocative, or unexpectedly compounded — gain ground because they accumulate brand equity that competitors cannot copy.
The five-year test
We ask one question of every name we surface: will this still feel right when the company is five years older and twice as broad? Names that fail the five-year test almost always fail expensively.
Availability is part of the name
A name with no usable domain, no clean trademark, and no available social handles is a different name in practice. We treat availability as a first-class attribute of every candidate, not an afterthought.
